Savannah Food Company has been making delicious hushpuppies since 1970 when Bob Hagy, after decades in the restaurant business, started producing them from his family's famous recipe at The Catfish Hotel Restaurant. The hushpuppies were so popular that Bob built a processing facility to share them with more people. In 2004, John Bryan, whose family has been in the food industry since the early 1900s with Bryan Foods, Inc., took over and continues the tradition.
