While COVID is in the air, as well as LOVE- we polled our Sales, Warehouse Team and Drivers to look at some of their Valentine's day favorites.
What do you LOVE about the hospitality industry?
The innovation.
There is always someone doing something new and different.
COVID has brought out even more creativity in business practices, products and their applications, concepts and menu ideas.
The ability of our industry to adjust on a daily and sometimes hourly basis to the changing landscape is something that makes me proud to be even a small part of this large diverse industry.
Food is the very source of human civilization, with nascent crops and domesticated animals drawing us out of hunter/gatherer cultures and into villages, towns, and cities. At the center of each of these developments was the need for, and eventually, the celebration of, food. It is more than just calories of fuel; the celebration of it and constant effort to combine it in new ways to bring joy that is one of the defining characteristics of the human race.
Sense of fulfillment and passion.
It is very SOCIAL.
Everyday is guaranteed something different from the day before.
The food.
I always loved the family aspect of working in restaurants. Everyone takes care of each other.
Camaraderie, and meeting new people.
The long standing relationships I have built over the years.
The passion our clients have for their business and dedication their customers and attention to all the details it takes to be a great operator.Satisfaction of others.
Exceeding a customer's expectations and making their day a bit easier in doing our jobs well.
The passion and attention to detail.
The interaction with repeat customers.
The look on a customers face when you know their exact order before they can place it, including hold the whatever, and this on the side.
Regulars are the best.
Interaction with customers and building trust and relationships.
I like the different cultures, meeting interesting people, and seeing different trends.
The people. They are true honest people. The bonds that are created with coworkers and customers.
Making people happy with food.
What do you LOVE about the restaurant experience/eating out? Apparently NOT dishes.
The community.
Not just the conversation you have with the people in your party but also the bartender that recommends a good beer or bottle of wine, the server that tells you about their favorite menu item or the table next to you that orders that dessert you were eyeing up from the minute you walk in and you all laugh together about it.
The sense of community and enjoyment that I don't believe can be duplicated anywhere else in our society.
Being out with friends.I love not having to do dishes, and having leftovers for lunch the next day.
Getting together and seeing people and having a good time to enjoy a good meal.
Eating different foods made by innovative chefs, food which I would not normally cook at home.
Not cleaning the dishes.
The energy from the staff and pride they take in their craft.
Sharing the experience with others.
Trying new menu items and ethnic cuisines.Seeing the creativity that goes into each dish.
I love the team work that it takes to create a beautiful dining experience.
