Saval Foodservice is pleased to announce that they will be supporting this year’s Maryland Prostart Student Invitational on March 10, 2020 at the Maryland Live! Hotel in Hanover.
Our Saval Foodservice chefs will once again be judging in this year’s competition.The Maryland ProStart Student Invitational (MPSI) is a state-wide team culinary and hospitality management competition where students compete for scholarships and the right to represent the state of Maryland at the National ProStart Invitational. MPSI demonstrates the skills students learned from the ProStart® program - a nationwide, two-year high school program that unites the classroom and industry to develop the best and brightest talent into tomorrow's restaurant and foodservice leaders.Saval Foodservice is the largest independent broad line foodservice distributor in Maryland celebrating 88 years of serving the Mid-Atlantic region.
Chef Bryan Bernstein returns as lead judge along with Saval’s Corporate Chef, Ken Plante.Bryan leads the Saval Foodservice marketing team and Chef Ken Plante is our culinary expert. Both bring a dynamic innovative energy to the food service community. They continue to work with many local charities in the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area and Maryland Prostart is a program that Saval Foodservice has been supporting for years.

The culinary competition highlights each team’s creative abilities through the preparation of a three-course meal in 60 minutes showcasing their talents and skills.
