Snacking Strengthens Restaurant Spending.

Americans’ love of snacking is boosting restaurant traffic and spending. More and more menus are offering snackable food options to attract customers during the mid-morning and pre-dinner day parts.  Lower cost and portability are the main reasons behind the boom in restaurant snack sales.  Restaurants are relying on snacks to entice customers to purchase additional foods & beverages.
Consumers between the ages of 18 and 24 spend the highest percentage of their income on snacks and non-alcoholic beverages, followed by those from 25-34 and 35-44.
