The impact on egg laying hens has created immediate shortages of shell and processed eggs. Demand is far out pacing supply. All major suppliers are allocating product and raising prices. Egg prices are expected to double immediately.
The impact on processed foods made with eggs is expected to drive costs of items such as baked goods and mayonnaise up.

May 15, 2015

Much of the central United States has been affected by the Avian “Bird” flu.
Entire flocks of turkeys and egg laying hens have been depopulated.
Availability of turkey meat and fresh and processed eggs has been challenged and costs have risen substantially.

Saval is working with all suppliers to maintain reliable supply and manage costs.
